Why Should Israel Behave?

"The seat", which may have looked like a privilege in the past, has become Israel's worst enemy. Like a naughty child whose dad is constantly shielding him or her from punishment, this "protection" weakens the child intrinsic ability to tell right from wrong and ultimately threatens the child ability to survive in the "real" world. I do not believe Israel will be transformed overnight because what happened last week. The response from Israeli officials showed a great deal of denial, focusing on the "resistance and violence" with which the Israeli soldiers met on board, that "threatened the soldiers lives", as an excuse for what happened, ignoring the basic facts of the matter:

1) The Ships were in international waters - and hence soldiers were exercising some acts of piracy and those on board were in their full right to defend their ship against piracy.

2) That Israeli blockade of Gaza has been repeatedly declared illegal by many UN Officials

So, we wait and see what happens with Corrie's vessel and hope for the best. Thanks Nachoua.
